   At a minimum, a GEM 300 interface must comply with the following SEMI standards: E5, E30, E37, E39, E40, E87, E90, E94.

2. What are the main features of the GEM300 standards?
   The GEM300 standards are a suite of SEMI standards originally defined to support full 300mm factory automation. These standards are based on the data collection technology defined in the GEM standard including collection events with data variables, status variables, alarms and equipment constants. The GEM300 suite adds standardized substrate tracking, carrier management, job management, equipment performance tracking and process module tracking.
3. Are the GEM 300 standards limited to 300mm factories?
   No. While 300mm wafer fabs require 100% of the manufacturing equipment to implement the GEM300 standards, none of the standards refer to the size of a wafer. The standards are not limited to 300mm wafers or even to front-end manufacturing. Several recent changes to these standards enable adoption on semiconductor backend, including packaging assembly and test equipment, that have substrates that are not wafers.
